Something on this site has for the past few days occasionally given me popups to random sites. I’ve been closing them immediately and virus checking my computer, and fortunately I’m clean. So, I’m wondering if there’s an advertiser that’s violating this site’s rules.
Sorry for complaining, but if there is a problem, we should fix it. Most people when they see popups assume that they’re on a site of poor repute.

In the future, can you try to get a screenshot of them to post?

Also, I’ll let amanda know.

yeah if you could grab screenshots + the page(s) that you’re on when you’re getting them that’d be rad

i haven’t seen any myself but that’s really really weird

Alright, I’ll take screenshots in the future.
Sorry, but I kind of instinctively close popups. But I can’t expect you guys to interrogate the advertisers because of piss-poor evidence like this.

This is what happened when I tried to navigate away from the page.

I think it’s trying to give my a virus/scam me. I didn’t get a screencap of this (because by this point I had to purposefully crash firefox) but another popup showed up called "Internet Payday)
*Edit: I’m not getting them on specific pages. I got them on the Hipster page, and on the forums.

Ok, I’ve thoroughly checked my computer; I don’t have a virus. If must be coming from somewhere inside the site, as I’ve never seen it here.
It generally pops up when you load a new page. I got one while I was on youtube too, so now I’m wondering if my browser has just been corrupted. I’m reinstalling it and lets see if the problem goes away.

Alright; New Brower, but still the same popup adds. I’ve cleared cookies and everything; so it must be coming from somewhere on this site.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Okay, sorry about this. I’ve discovered I have the 9newtoday.net virus. I’m trying to get it off my computer, and appear to have been partially successful. Sorry to raise false alarm, requesting thread lock.
