Duplicate & Pointless Entries Report Thread

I'm not 100% certain, but I think that mods are allowed to hide entries from public viewing if:
1. The entry consists of obscene materials (gore or porn)
2. The entry is a duplicate
3. The entry consists of a single image (possibly based on a meme)
3. The entry is a target of a raid. (MMMeme)

Anyway, I've noticed a lot of duplicate entries go unhidden, and simply stay in the deadpool. Since these make it a lot harder to navigate to the right page, and since we've recently begun hiding entries consisting of a single spin-off imagine in that last What People Think I do/What I really do incident, I think we should start hiding these too.

Here are some I compiled:
When Searching "Y U No", I got the following entries before the actual page.
Internet Y U NO guy
ASHTON KUTCHER, Y U NO CHARLIE SHEEN?
Y U NO FIT?
XZHIBIT, Y U NO?
Y U NO OPEN?

These make it harder to access the actual page, which is quite frustrating.
If we were to hide entries that misunderstood the purpose of this site, e.g. entries that people make to "create their own meme" or meme pages made for a single instance of another meme, the list of pages we need to hide for that one entry would be 3x as long.

Anyway, if you see any more pages that need to be hidden, why not post them here?

Keep posting these where you find them, this is great.

Also, the newfagface and trollface 3.0 entry with the most information is going to stay in deadpool and not hidden, because it was a fad that caught on for a while.

All those have been hidden.
Note that not all deadpool memes will be hidden, only duplicates and NSFW ones. Even though something is blatantly forced, it will still be deadpooled and not hidden.

Yep. I'm assuming single-image derivatives will be hidden because they divert traffic from actual entries though?

Here's another issue:
Close Enough and F*ck Yea could stand to be merged. They use the same image, with a different caption, so they really are just two derivatives of the single meme. If someone adds me as an editor on F*ck Yea, I'll put the information in, allowing us to classify the extra page as a dupe.

All entries above have been hidden. I was hesitant about the Derp-rail one, because it is not a derivative or forced meme, but a minor meme that got covered in a larger entry. Other mods can revert me if they consider otherwise.

Thanks. I was a little hesitant about that too, but if the article was merged, then I guess it's just another dupe.

I commonly count merges as a reason for hiding the original.

Some exceptions are of course there, so don't be suprised if we leave it as a deadpool. It may also become unhidden, like in cases where the meme grows large enough to warrant a seperate entry.

As for your question, it takes a bit longer for older posts to update. Just give it some time.

Yeah, yeah, I got REALLY bored and went through the entire deadpool backwards. Mostly because I'm lazy about writing my thesis. I regret nothing.

147 total, by my count (and assuming that I correctly identified duplicates). It was interesting to see how popular Demotivational Posters were two years ago, and how they've been supplanted with Rage Comics.
