Ranking system?

We have no REAL ranking system, and there’s not really a pecking order. Pretty much you’re a newfag, you’re in transition, or you’re a researcher. That’s all that really matters, anyway. I won’t get into the semantics.

Above that are the mods and the admins (usually staff, with Cap’t being the notable exception).

To answer your question, there is a sort of ranking system, which, at the moment, is based off of the total number of contributions a user makes. You start out as “Brand New”, move on to “Protomember”, then “Gold Member”, “Jr. Researcher”, and finally “Researcher”. In addition to that there are special ranks assigned by the site’s administration. They are “Admin”, “Forum Moderator”, and “Entry Moderator”. Captain Blubber and Jamie Dubs have special titles (“Tikibar Mgmnt” and “Chief Scientist Emeritus”, respectively), which are unique to those users.
