We should mention what internet sites memes are related to, and how popular they are, we dont want people looking up memes on here and saying them to people on sites expecting them to get the jokes.

Isn't what you are requesting part of what is typically documented on confirmed entries (origin information, use and spread of the meme, web references, etc.)?
