AAAAAAAAAAAAAA is a meme that first began on Uncyclopedia in the year 2005.
[this statement is the subject of debate]

Since then, it has been seen many other places including chat rooms, image sites and forums like 4chan.

A typical AAAAAAAAAAAAAA image usually consists of a random picture with all the characters replaced with “A”. Other variations also include faces with an AAAAAAAAA caption. An example would be a credit card with all the letters replaced with “A”, or an image of a frightened cat with an AAAAAAAAAA caption. There is no limit to what can be AAAAAAAAA’d.

Ah, yes. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!” is a definite meme but unfortunately, since the number of A’s usually varies, it will be hard researching this one.

What I’ve found so far is that it definitely did NOT originate from Uncyclopedia but the site made it popular. People state that it first started as an esoteric programming language!!!! which Uncyclopedia also has an article for. While people were saying that, a YTMND Wiki search usually pops up an article for Dave Cockrum (but mostly because it is used as a popular spam comment) and the “Most Annoying Sound In The World:”http://wiki.ytmnd.com/Most_Annoying_Sound_In_The_World (which was a scene from the 1994 movie, Dumb and Dumber). YTMND has no official wiki article for it, but there are a good amount of YTMND’s of the meme nonetheless. Here’s a link.

It was referenced by ED in its Uncyclopedia article under the heading: THIS IS THE FUNNIEST FUCKING THING EVAR.

That’s all I’ll give you for now. Tomorrow, after I get some sleep, I’ll start submitting more pic examples of the meme. I hope my research helps for the betterment of this article.

Goodnight.

PS: It’s unwise to start an entry with half of the pics being of your making. People who don’t know of the meme will think that you are trying to force the creation of a meme and that helps a meme go into deadpool. Upload pics of Anonymous’ making first before you submit your own examples.

… or not. I give up. Just use the original URL but add an exclamation mark at the end of the link when you click on it.

I thought that at one point we had an entry focusing on the programming language, but I can’t seem to find it.

So I guess the question is, which came first: the language or the images?

Its their choice if they want to believe that. Yes its true I created about half of the images submitted. This meme has been around for quite some time and would be silly for someone to think that I am “forcing” an already popular subject. People can think what they want about my examples, however that is not going to make me lie about the images and it is not going to make me try to “cover up” what I want to submit.

Not meaning to be disrespectful, but “AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!” is not as popular of a subject as you think.

Main researching hubs such as Wikipedia, ED, Macrochan, YTMND Wiki, and Urban Dictionary all don’t have a single article for this meme. Only Uncyclopedia cares to even evaluate it (and its article for it is not that much helpful for information). Info about it on the internet is scattered and as Google Insights tells us, as well as here, as the number of A’s increases, the popularity of the search decreases.

It’s not very popular, but it’s still a meme. Hell, if you hadn’t made the article, I would have never probably even remembered it.

Now that that’s out of the way, another thing I should bother to mention is that I’m not telling you to not submit your own examples of the meme. I’m just saying it would be better if you could submit more examples made by other people. You need Anonymous’ influence around the creation of the meme so that you can justify that the meme was, shall I say, all-around, for a lack of a better word.

This article needs some serious reworking and some heavy duty researching. It will be hard, but no one said it would be easy neither. I would love to see how the development of this article unfolds.

+1 Work on it
