In 2001 Apple opened its first apple store. Since then Apple Stores exists all over the world. As of December 2009 Apple has opened 294 stores; 231 in 41 US states, 25 in the United Kingdom (21 in England, 2 in Scotland, 1 in Northern Ireland and 1 in Wales), 14 in Canada, 7 in Japan, 6 in Australia, 3 in Switzerland, 3 in Germany, 2 in Italy, 2 in France, and 1 in the People's Republic of China.

Customers entering the stores are allowed to play around with the products (Macs, iPods etc). Many people took this opportunity to record themselves on a Mac and upload the video on YouTube. Thus, Apple Store Dance Offs, Apple Store singing and other crazy videos have been introduced online:

In September 2009, the comedy hip-hop band Fatty Spins, recorded their song "Apple Store Love Song" in the Apple Store:
