"Bad Romance" is a song by American recording artist Lady Gaga, the lead single from her album The Fame Monster. The track was inspired by paranoia she felt while touring in 2008.^[1] The song seemed to appeal to fans worldwide, providing a "catchy" beat and lyrics to sing along to. "Bad Romance" debuted at number nine the Billboard Hot 100 for November 14, 2009, selling 142,000 paid digital downloads in its first week.^[2]

The Music Video

The entire video takes place in a brightly fluorescent-lit white bath house with a sign reading "BATH HAUS of GaGa". Lady Gaga and her dancers climb out of pods--Lady Gaga's labeled "Mons†er"--wearing long-sleeved white leotards. The dancers grab her, tear off her clothes, and force her to drink something. They put her up for auction, and a man buys her for one million Rubles. At the end of the video, Lady Gaga approaches the man, who is sitting on a bed unbuttoning his shirt. The bed bursts into flame and the man is reduced to a charred skeleton, Lady Gaga lying beside it covered in soot and wearing a metal bra that emits sparks. The video premiered on November 10, 2009 and was uploaded to YouTube by VEVO on November 23, 2009, eventually becoming one of the most-viewed YouTube videos of all time with over 460 million views as of May 2012.
