Bob the Internet Lumberjack is a meme born from the ongoing saga involving Christian Weston Chandler, aka "Chris-chan", one of the most prolific targets of trolling on the internet today.

The incident that brought about the meme occurred on February 27, 2009, when Chris was having cybersex with Julie (a troll) when his father, Bob Chandler, walks in on him. After trying to cover up his misdeeds, Bob famously declared, "Get away from the internet, I'm cutting it down right now!"

Bob Walks In (SFW Version)

Bob Chandler had already endeared himself to trolls as being the closest thing to an actual parent in Chris's life (his mother spoiling him rotten and never disciplining him). When audio of the incident was leaked to the internet, he became immortalized in the hearts and minds of trolls as the "internet lumberjack".

Chris Chan
-
Christian Weston Chandler (born February 24, 1982), also known as "Chris Chan", is a 29-year old (as of this writing) sufferer of autism who lives with his parents and is the author of Sonichu, a comic featuring a Sonic recolor that reassembles a cross between Sonic and the Pokemon Pikachu. The comic is used by Chris as a means of detailing events in his life that portray him in a sympathetic or heroic light, often revolving around his "Love Quest", his ongoing attempt to lose his virginity.

Chris was discovered by Encyclopedia Dramatica, who proceeded to troll him, making mockery of his "Love Quest" (which at one point involved loitering around a community college or shopping centers with a sign indicating his desire for companionship, which got him into trouble with authorities and the college's dean for suspicion of his soliciting sex), his highly skewed world view (including intolerant views on African Americans and homosexuals), and the fact that he wears a medallion he crafted of his Sonic recolor on a near constant basis, even in public. This is further compounded by the fact that he has proven to be an extremely easy target for trolls, constantly falling for those who claim to be fans of his comic or potential sweethearts.

The Internet Lumberjack
-
Robert Franklin Chandler, Jr. (born September 4, 1927) is Chris's father, a retired electrical worker, and is one of the most favored figures in Chris's life amongst trolls, largely for the fact that he does things that annoys Chris, including never washing his hands. Nonetheless, Bob is far from an ideal person: his racist tendencies have been instilled in Chris (who amplified them to dangerous extremes) and had Chris sign up for welfare, explaining that he would earn more from a monthly tugboat than from employment.

Nonetheless, compared to Chris's mother, Barbara (aka Snorlax), Bob has proven to at least be a more capable parent: as opposed to spoiling Chris rotten and never lifting a finger against him, Bob has tried repeatedly (and failed, unfortunately) to get Chris to better himself and criticizing some of his more egregious behaviors. This combination of his actual attempt at parenting, his annoying Chris, and the epic win derived from the 2/27/09 incident, have endeared the Internet Lumberjack to trolls.
