Bunnyfaic (2009)

A brand new, forced meme.

On 9/13/2009, a Newgrounds user named Red-pill (account created 9/11/2009) created a thread entitled Shoop The Bunny.

u kno what to do.
giv it some type of eyes.
or shoop the mouth onto something.

or anything else for that matter.

Red-pill’s signature contains a graphic with the text “My nemesis: Red-Pill.”

Despite requesting for others to create new photoshopped instances of the rabbit, a few responded but none participated at first.

The first act of participation came from an account named Blue-Pill created the same day.

It is almost certain that both of these accounts were created by the same user, responding to his or her self.

The fact that both accounts name themselves as “my nemesis” rather than naming eachother seems like an amateur oversight.

What’s ironic is that the mere suggestion that someone else had participated in the meme caused others to join in. While a basic examination of the details behind the user accounts reveals that this is a sloppily forced meme devoid of interesting background-story, that doesn’t mean that it won’t eventually spread to other forums.

It cannot be considered a meme at this time because it lacks any sort of history. The fact that it is so obviously a forced meme attempt and has been identified as such may be detrimental to this memes lifespan.
