Denis is a Pokemon, Blitzle, it was owned by giancarloparimango11 of youtube. Apperentaly, it was killed by a wild Genosect.

Origin

It is a youtube video made by giancarloparimango11. It was uploaded on October 20, 2010. About five and a half months before it came out in the U.S. There is also another meme called simply "DENNIS" where it claims that a Pokemon song clearly says Dennis at 1:32 in the video.

Notability

It is now a meme amognst Pokemon Black/White videos, having comments with hundreds of thumbs-up for Denis' memory. There are seven video tributes to Denis. A video about Denis' Revenge. And there is a Hitler Downfall meme video for it,

How did you get the idea of Denis?

When I battled the leader of team plasma, I that it sounded like someone was singing "Denis" in the background. I thought it would be funny if I named my Pokemon that. It was very weak during my walkthrough and it never won, so people started feeling bad for it and liked him more than my other Pokemon. Eventually, it became so weak that I had to remove him and that's when I made Denis' Final Blow. The video was an instant success.

What do you think of it's popularity?

I never expected Denis to become so popular. I thought the idea of screaming out the words "Denis" every time he fainted was funny to the viewers but I never realized how much they actually liked it.

Do you think that you might make another Denis Video?

Yes, I am planning to make a sequel to Denis' Final Blow titled "Genesect's Final Blow". In this video, Denis takes revenge on the Pokemon that killed him. I'm still not sure when I plan to release this video.

What do you think about the tribute videos?

I was very surprised at the way many people took this. I didn't think that it was really a big deal until many people started messaging me to bring back Denis. I really enjoyed watching the tribute videos, it makes me feel more connected to my viewers.

I have seen reaction videos where people cry when they watch
the video. What do you think of these?

I didn't believe that people got emotional over the death of Denis at first, but then after seeing the tribute videos, I knew that it wasn't impossible. My intention was to bring a video that caught the viewers attention and made them feel like my walkthrough was more of a story. The feedback that I received from this video made me realize that I had succeeded in making my viewers feel connected to the story.

I have encountered people whom have acquired a Blitzer plush and named it Denis in his memory. What do you have to say to these people?

I would like to say thanks to those people for caring so much about Denis and that without their help, Denis would not be where he is today.
