El Maestruli

El Maestruli was the nickname given to Raul Parentela, a Musician of the night show hosted by Susana Gimenez during the 90s on Argentina. She often called some of the viewers on the telephone so they could win some prices. In those days, Raul often laugthed of Susana`s or the called bad jokes and he was show smiling.
Maestruli its a transformation of the word maestro, that might refer to Raul`s job on Susana`s show ( musical arranger, and using maestro in the musical meaning of the word) or it might be used as a flattery, as calling maestro or master to a person meant, on that decade, that him or her was amazing, cool, etc.
On 2012 Youtube user Marito Baracus http://www.facebook.com/maritobaracus who had already made some comic dubs of series that were shown on the same decade, made a video using footage of the show Alf, implying that he was addicted to watching Susana`s shows and calling to appear in it, and how he curses all the time as an effort to be funny.
On one occasion, Susana, answers Alf but its unable to understand his name, so he curses at her and she tells him how he made El Maestruli laugh. After this Alf is confronted by Willie about his phone bill and, also, his cursing, which he declares " Its not funny anymore" to what Alf replies " The Maestrulli would laugh" After this, he sings a short song about El Maestruli:

After this Alf wins 3000 euro and use it to buy lots of cocaine, instead of paying Willie`s phone bill. His reason is that he wants to be all day long like El Maestruli, to witch the song plays again but only with El Maestruli`s laugh.

The meme applies to some person being totally coked or in a similar state, using his or her laugh as a resort to get a grip, like a mechanical reaction, or to escape a awkward situation. It also applies to bad jokes, but as a gesture of not letting the failed prankster down.
Its also part of the meme Alfs phrase " being like El Maestruli" usually also used like " Being coked like El Maestruli" to describe the state mentioned above on one self or on others.
Also, some users have started pasting El Maestruli`s face on other people or object to make him appear with his weird grin in different locations, particularly with famous people, like Argentina`s President, the recently elected Pope, who is also Argentinian, etc, but not limited to Argentinian figures only.

There are also various remixes and 1 hours videos of El Maestruli song, usually only featuring the version with him laughing instead of Alf singing his lyrics.

The meme originated right after the video was posted on 06/08/2012 and is usually mixed with other phrases and characters that Marito Baracus has dubbed, but its one of the favorites, having various groups on Facebook about him, and at least 5 Facebook pages with his name on them.
