About

Francesc Fabregas is a Spanish football player currently playing for FC Barcelona.

Similar to the Peter Crouch can do anything, Fabregas’s emotional goal celebration quickly became a joke on UK football-related forums, spawning dozens of photoshopped images based on the exploitable photograph when he was playing for Arsenal FC.

Origin

Fabregas’ exploitable originates from his goal celebration during a club match (English Premiers League) between Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC on October 28, 2007.

The leveller came with ten minutes left in the second half, when Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb maneuvered his into Liverpool’s defense line, delivering a perfectly timed pass to Fabregas, who then toe-poked the ball into the net. The game resulted in a 1-1 draw.

“WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA@#$@”

According to the Manchester United FC forums Redcafe.net, this meme originated on Football365.com forum, however the link to the original thread is now invalid. But on Google, there are several forum posts and reblog entries (such as this one) referring to the Football365 Forums link that no longer exist.

Spread

The Fabregas photoshop meme became quite popular in the online football community:
