GentleMentleMen (not to be confused with Gentlemen) is a series of YTPMVs derived from the “Meet the Spy” trailer of the FPS game Team Fortress 2, typically edited to the song “AGEHA” by Ryu from the soundtrack of beatmania IIDX 11 : IIDX RED.^[1]

Origin

This fad was started by the video with the same title created by YouTube user Maplemaniac. The video was first uploaded to YouTube in around September 2009, but his account was soon suspended. The video was reuploaded in October 10th, 2009^[2] after the creator came back with a new account.^[3]

Spread

“GentleMentleMen” got much attention among YouTube Poopers, and they began following its style. Over 600 videos in this series have been posted to there, and about 300 of them are video responses to this video.^[4] However, the user disabled comments on the video and changed the audio around February 2010. The video shown above is a mirror of the original.

GentleMentleMen has been mentioned in a handful of threads in the YouChewPoop Forums^[5][6][7] and the following forums^[8][9], although there is rarely much discussion.
