Hyadain’s One-sided Love-C (Japanese : ヒャダインのカカカタ☆カタオモイ-C, Hyadain no Kakakata Kataomoi-C) is an opening theme song of TV animation series of Nichijou (Japanese : 日常, lit. Regular Life), a Japanese comedy manga by Keiichi Arawi.

Since April 2011, its TV animation series began to air in Japan, its opning movie and song inspired many people, and became the subject of many fanfics, parodies, remixes and MADs on Nico Nico Douga (NND), a video sharging service in Japan.

Origin

A TV animation series of Nichijo produced by Kyoto Animation began to air on April 3rd, 2011(JST). Its opening song was written and sung by Hyadain a.k.a. Kenichi Maeyamada^[1], a Japanese music composer. He got this opportunity by popularity of his many works (such as Western Show) on NND , and this song was his debut single from major record label as Hyadain.

As well as an opening movie of the animation, an official promotion movie of this song was also uploaded to NND and YouTube.

Online Popularity

The animation’s opening movie was first uploaded to YouTube on April 2nd, 2011(GMT)^[2], and Hyadain’s promotion movie was uploaded to YouTube and NND^[3] on April 20th, 2011 by himself.
Partly thanks to his widespread popularity on NND and its well-made animation produced by Kyoto Animation, each videos soon got much the attention among NND users. People who liked this song and movie, immediately began creating its fanfics, music remixes, parodies, and MADs.

The another reason for some people’s high motivation to fanfics was a online contest for promotional campaign by a record label held from April 27th to May 21st, 2011^[4]. So, not a few of its singing covers, dancing covers and playing covers were created to participate to this contest because its winners could get a chance to collaborate with Hyadain in his next work. But most of them were pure fanfics as usual on there.

As of May 2011, The amount of videos related to this animation is over 1700^[5], and over 500 videos in them are fanfics, MADs and parodies of this song^[6]. They are also uploaded to YouTube^[7].
