"I Didn't Get No Sleep 'Cause Of Ya'll" is a memorable catchphrase uttered by American reality TV personality Tanisha Thomas in an episode from the second season of Oxygen's reality TV show Bad Girls Club. Mainly due to the comically sing-songy manner in which she delivers the line, Tanisha's quote has inspired a variety of audio-dubbed parodies and re-enactments on the video-sharing site Vine.^[8]

Origin

Bad Girls Club, an American reality TV show that follows the lives of seven aggressive and quarrelsome women living in a luxurious mansion for three months, premiered on Oxygen on December 5th, 2006.^[1] In the Season 2, Episode 30 titled "Prank Wars Part 3: Phat Lady," aired on January 29th, 2008, one of the newly casted members of the show Tanisha Thomas starts a loud ruckus in the house after getting fed up with housemates, Jennavicia, Cordelia and Darlen, who had invited male guests and kept her awake the previous night (shown below).

When the housemates refuse to clean up their mess after the party, Tanisha grabs a set of baking pans and proceeds to stomp around the house. Banging the pans together, she yells to "GET THE HELL UP!" and "CLEAN THE F--KING HOUSE!" with the occasional "I'M TIRED OF THIS SHIT!" After previously waking up a crashing member on the living room couch with "LET ME HEAR YOU SAY BWOMP BWOMP!", she makes her way down the brightly-patterned hall to the open bedroom doors, leading to the iconic shot of her screaming a strangely rhythmic, sing-songy "I DIDN'T GET NO F--KING SLEEP 'CAUSE OF Y'ALL! YA'LL NOT GONNA GET NO SLEEP 'CAUSE OF ME!" whilst banging the pans.

Shortly after the broadcast of the episode, Tanisha and her freakout became something of a talking point within the reality TV entertainment blogosphere, while the Oxygen channel itself followed up with unveiling a remix version of Tanisha's rant in a commercial^[3] for the TV program. On February 8th, 2008, the earliest known screen-recorded footage of the original scene was uploaded by YouTuber UNiQUEE08,^[2] followed by a higher-resolution copy of the actual scene (shown below) on March 23rd, which has garnered more than 231,000 views as of July 2015.

In the following years, several duplicate versions of Oxygen's promotional remix video and GIFs from the scene began circulating around a few discussion forums, mostly as an inside joke among the fans of the show; however, the quote didn't grow into a full-fledged parody meme until its arrival on Vine in April 2015.

On Vine

In early 2014, the scene began to grow traction as a popular source material within the Vine remixing and mashup community, with many participants overlaying a wide range of alternate background songs over Tanisha's monologue in the original scene. On April 24th, Viner PagonPigeon^[6] submitted a short clip from the remix video, though it didn't get its breakout moment until May 31st, 2015, when another take of the same video was uploaded to the Vine channel Reality TV Clips^[7] (shown below, right). Within the first month, the clip garnered more than seven million views and 7,250 comments.
