During the 2012 Democratic National Convention, or DNC, a vote was established to reinstall the word “God” and the stance to support Jerusalem as Israel’s capitol back into the party platform.
After a series of three near-even voice votes, the chairman, Antonio Villaraigosa, declared, “In the opinion of the chair two-thirds have voted in the affirmative”, and the rest is history.
Much controversy erupted afterwards, due to both the thrice-denial of God and Israel, but also of the top Democrats rigging a vote at their own convention.
