Created after the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Music Video of the Year.
Within a few hours, countless spinoffs were created, including Kanye interrupting the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers (To inform them that he “ould let them finish, but the Oklahoma city bombing was the best terrorist attack of all time”), JFK’s speech (That Nixon had “run the best damn election ever”), and Facebook (That MySpace was “The best Social Networking site ever”).
Where this meme will go, nobody can tell, but judging by it’s incredibly booming popularity, it may even soon be as well-known as “OVER 9000!!” or “IMA FIRIN MAH LAZERZ!!”.
