KFC Corporation (KFC), also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky, in the United States. This company has become the basis of many online and real life phenomenas.

History

The KFC has been founded by Harland Sendlers who is also the actual person on the restaurant logo, during the 1930s big economical crisis. The company developed and opened many outlets outside of the world. Then the company has been sold to the Pepsi Co chain.

In stereotyping, KFC chicken is often associated as an African-American's favorite type of fried chicken. There are multiple deviations that refer to this joke in an exaggerated manner. The connection between black people and fried chicken originated from slavery; chicken were cheap and is what was used to feed the slaves. The slaves would eat fried chicken with their hands and it was considered 'dirty'.[1]

2204355/Coxinha Roll


2204355/Coxinha Roll is an example of a “specific number ID meme.” These tend to be self-reinforcing, as it is created by people searching for the number assigned to the image or .gif.

The animation that goes by 2204355 is also known by the names “Awesome Rainbow Chicken Dance” and Coxinha Roll. It consists of a specific number used as a unique identifier, and this low-resolution flash animation of a man dancing while eating two pieces of fried chicken, accompanied by a 80’s video-game style background music and colorful blinking lights.

“Coxinha,” in Portuguese, means thighs, as in the chicken thighs the man is eating.

Reba McEntire Cast as Colonel Sanders

On January 25th, 2018, the official KFC Twitter account uploaded a commercial featuring country singer Reba McEntire performing on stage dressed as the company mascot Colonel Sanders (shown below). Within 24 hours, the tweet gained over 4,600 likes and 1,300 retweets.




That day, various Twitter users posted reactions to the announcement, some of whom joked that it was a public relations move (shown below). Meanwhile, several internet news sites published articles about the ad, including The Daily Dot, UpRoxx and AV Club.
