*Gourmet Race* (Japanese : グルメレース) refers to a style of <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/mads">MAD</a> videos that use the audio track for Gourmet Race that is a mini-game in Nintendo's 1996 game _Kirby Super Star_.[1] This song written by a Japanese composer Jun Ishikawa is the most famous song representing the music of Kirby series, and its remixes are included in many other games in this series and <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/subcultures/super-smash-brothers">Super Smash Bros./a> series.
Around the end of 2007, This song caused explosive boom in the Japanese video sharing service <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sites/nico-nico-douga">Nico Nico Douga</a> (NND), and This shock like a megaton punch was also received in all over the world through YouTube.

Probably the first instance using this song in remix can be found on a 2006 post in <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/sites/ytmnd">YTMND</a>. It was a mash up with Snoop Dogg's 2004 song "Drop It Like It's Hot".[2] This was refined and also reuploaded to YouTube later[3], and has been watched over millions of times.

Due to the collaboration with Airmoto phenomenon, the song itself also gained huge popularity like her head exploding. Many MAD editors followed the style of this video and began including this song into their works.
Among these derivative videos, This "Falcon * Parn~ [Iyaaaaahhh Mix]" which featured <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/falcon-punch">Falcon Punch</a> made this song get a permanent place in online parodies, by its popularity on YouTube. It was originally posted to NND in January 25th, 2008[5] and reproduced to YouTube in the same day.
And, "Iyaaaaahhhh" in the title is not only pointing Captain Falcon's shout for a kick, but also a parody of the epic death cry in a Japanese indie game <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/noroi-no-yakata-%E5%91%AA%E3%81%84%E3%81%AE%E9%A4%A8">Noroi no Yakata</a> (The House of the Curse) that was a trend on NND in those days, too.
This video has been watched over millions of times as well.

By these succeeded videos, this song also became to the standard music in <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/ytpmvs">YTPMVs</a> made in outside Japan, and huge amount of Gourmet Race remixes had been posted to both NND[6] and YouTube[7] around 2008 to 2009.
However, its too convenient editing style was also popular among people who want to join the meme's bandwagon without creative skill or mind. Their overproduction of inferior videos merely using <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/videos/19541">template video</a> was gradually dampening the enthusiasm.
Today, Gourmet Race remixes can't get much attention as previous.
h2. Wazukana Jikan wo Mitsukete
Many of Gourmet Race remixes have the same voice "Wazukana Jikan wo Mitsukete _Y_ Suru _X_ San" (X doing Y whenever he/she finds short amount time.) in the middle part.
This is a homage to the line "Wazukana Jikan wo Mitsukete _My Revolution_ Suru _Hisamoto_ San" in the original Hissu Amoto San remix. MAD editors challenge reproducing this line by their audio resources as if it's a required course.
