The Ozymandias Grin originates in Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel Watchmen, and refers to a single panel of the character Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias smiling confidently and somewhat eerily.

It is frequently spotted in 4chan’s /co/ board and on LiveJournal, but it gained particular notoriety with its appearances in Something Awful’s Watchmen-themed Photoshop Phriday competition.
