Jim Carrey’s Message to Emma Stone was a satirical video produced by Canadian actor and comedian Jim Carrey in which he expresses his love for Stone. It has been rumored to have been a viral marketing gimmick for his website Jim Carrey TruLife. The video was subject to a number of remixes and was parodied by other celebrities. This straight-faced monologue was first uploaded onto Vimeo as a private video and publicly posted on Jim Carrey’s newly-launched website Jim Carrey TruLife.
Meanwhile, Emma Stone also created a new YouTube account “EmmaStoneVerified” and re-uploaded Carrey’s video message onto her channel with the following comment:
See it on my official website http://EmmaStone.me – I was a huge Jim Carrey fan. Now I’m not sure if I should be flattered, or seek an order for protection? ;) lol
On September 15th, 2012, Stone noticed she was being photographed by paparazzi while with her boyfriend actor Andrew Garfield in New York City. The two created cardboard signs which they held over their faces so the photographers would capture the messages. The signs highlighted two charities, the Worldwide Orphans Foundation and Gildasclubnyc (which supports cancer patients in honor of the late comedian Gilda Radner) and read:
“We just found out that there were paparazzi outside the restaurant we were eating in. ’So… why not take this opportunity to bring attention to organizations that need and deserve it. wwo.org gildasclubnyc.org”
On June 17th, 2014, Stone and Garfield were again photographed holding signs highlighting charities, this time highlighting Youth Mentoring Connection and Autism Speaks, as well as the two charities they highlighted in 2012.
