About

Sammy Zenith, known by his internet aliases SammyClassicSonicFan, SammyPaperMarioFan and MultiMariosonic, is a gamer, vlogger and internet personality from Indiana who makes reviews on video games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, as well as rants about the fanbase. Sammy is mostly known for the excessive screaming in his rants and is best known for the videos "Stop Hating On Sonic" and "Rant Against the Sonic Fanbase: You All Ruined Sonic," due to how angry he gets throughout his videos while on camera.

Online History

Sammy's first video was created on April 19th, 2013, titled "SammyClassicSonicFan's Top Ten Sonic Games" (shown below). As his first video shared online, Sammy was unknown at the time until Reddit, 4chan and Tumblr users discovered him and began sharing his overly angry reactions. While the original video and channel have since been terminated, YouTuber[1] The SammyClassicSonicFan Archive reuploaded it on September 17th, 2015, receiving nearly 60,000 views in roughly five years.

Stop Hating on Sonic

The most well-known video on his channel was uploaded on July 15th, 2013, titled β€œStop Hating On Sonic” (seen below). In the video, he rants about people who hate Sonic because the franchise "occasionally has bad games." This video helped turn Sammy's content into a viral phenomenon and was picked up and discussed by YouTubers like Balrogthemaster Chadtronic and PewDiePie. As with his original video, this one was also terminated alongside his original account but was reuploaded by the archive channel on YouTube[2] on September 17th, 2015, receiving over 2.6 million views in roughly five years.

As Sammy's renown online started to increase with his "Stop Hating Sonic" video, he then created the channel MultiMariosonic.[3]

Adventure Movies

On July 26th, 2013, Sammy created his first movie, "SammyClassicSonicFan's Adventure," which was about SammyClassicSonicFan retrieving the rare "Fire Mario Backpack" that gives him the fireball ability (shown below). On his way to getting the backpack, he encounters obstacles, enemies and treasure. On September 17th, 2015, the archive YouTube[4] channel reuploaded this video, accumulating over 36,000 views in roughly five years.

The exact date is unknown for his second video, "SammyClassicSonicFan's Adventure 2: Who's That Imposter?" This video is a parody of Sega's Sonic Adventure 2, which continued a few months after the events of the first movie. Sammy was one day browsing the internet until he found another channel by the name of "SammyClassicSanicFan" and thought it was the imposter. After he first saw the channel, he heard a knock on the door and answered it. Someone then runs off wearing a hoodie and the manhunt begins as he carried his Fire Mario Backpack that he obtained in the first movie. On September 17th, 2015, this video was also reuploaded by the archive channel, accumulating over 153,000 views in roughly five years (seen below).[5]

Farewell and Comeback

Sometime in 2014, Sammy stopped making videos after his parents discovered his YouTube channel and forced him to terminate it. On March 15th, 2015, he then posted an update video on what his plans for the future would be as he returned to YouTube. On September 17th, 2015, the video was reuploaded by the archive channel, receiving over 41,000 views in roughly five years (shown below).[6]

Return to YouTube

On August 4th, 2015, Sammy released the first episode of his revamped channel, no longer using the "screaming rage kid" that he was known for. His new content included more relaxed commentaries on Sonic, resulting in new fans flocking to his channel separate from his memes. The show only included three episodes, with the last one being released on September 17th of that year (examples shown below).

After the last episode was released, he fell into obscurity again for unknown reasons.

Final Goodbye

In February 2016, Sammy released an update video where he talked about his life in recent years and online presence. In the vlog, Sammy said that he suffered from depression, which he states he had been suffering from for years, and that it also worsened in early 2015. In turn, this made him become unmotivated to do the things he loved, including making YouTube videos. Sammy also states that he's thankful to have such an understanding fanbase and that he never deserved it in the first place but might no longer be doing SammyClassicSonicFan anymore.

He also stated that he was going to make the final decision for his channel in a matter of days, but the channel was terminated before he could make that decision. On February 19th, 2016, the video was reuploaded by the archive channel, receiving over 1.6 million views in five years (shown below).[7]

The SammyClassicSonicFan Archive Channel

After his original channel was terminated, Sammy then created The SammyClassicSonicFan Archive YouTube[8] channel where he reuploaded all of his original content, as well as introducing new content. Since 2016, Sammy has continually released new content revolved around vlogs, video games and other livestreams.

I just found this kids channel, and i must say, comparing his older videos to his newer ones, its almost like watching an entirely different person. now, he's calm and collected, and is actually rational with his commentary. it's astounding.
