About

Pruane2Forever is Pierce Pruane, also known by his self-given pseudonym of Sexman.

His debut Youtube video “Screw You Porn Addicts”, uploaded January 22, 2008, had the comments disabled after he was ridiculed for his nasal voice, and bad teeth, which would later earn him the nickname Jawsus.

The ED entry on Jawsus was started in January of 2008, signifying that Pruane’s video must have caught Anonymous’ attention early on.

As the subject of Remix

Haters are viewers too.

Pruane has been mocked for his nasal voice (which changes over the course of the videos), his acne levels fluxuate, he gets braces… you can literally watch puberty in action.

Like most teens his age, Pruane is a voracious consumer of media. Most of his videos are movie and music reviews. In his videos, Pruane states his opinions as though they are absolute universal truths. His criticisms are pure, unadulterated nerditude. The fact that Pruane calls himself “sexman” and that he lists “Gang Bang Productions” under the Companies field are just two examples of the ironic self-assured confidence that this awkward kid has.

Pruane2Forever also revels in the shit-talking, and seems to be doing a excellent job of turning his haters into some of his best assets.

Things that Pruane is doing that work to his advantage:

  • Being prolific: He’s made a new video about once every week.
  • Being timely and topical: Featured on Youtube’s front page on March 14, 2008 for his review of 10000 BC which had been released on week prior, and again on April 14, 2009 for his review of Eminem’s _We Made You _ which had also been released one week prior.

February 6th, 2009, “50 Cent?” critically rips into the rapper, and condemns him as a media whore. Youtube featured the video on February 9th, where it quickly shot up to around 600,000 views practically overnight. Over the course of the year,it has accrued over 1 Million views (with an average rating of 2.7 stars)

On July 2nd, 2009 50 Cent posted a Youtube video of his own, revealing that he had flown Pruane2Forever to New York, and introduced him as his “new secret weapon.”

50 later appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on November 17th, 2009 where he gave his side of the story, saying “now he attacks other people for me.”

That’s an interesting take on it, being that Pruane’s video was edited to include a replay of his prior criticism of 50 again, AFTER having met with him.

Regardless of how Pruane might be perceived, what is clear is that his message, whatever it may be, will reach millions of people. His rant were powerful enough to make 50 Cent woo him into joining his side to prevent further damage to his image.

Bonus:
In this video, Pierce and Father John discuss biker fights in a delightfully Canadian manner.

I just saw 50 Cent talking about this kid on last night’s Conan O’Brien. From the sounds of it, one of the videos that got this kid the most attention was when he was slamming 50 for being a “media whore.” This video then got 50’s attention.

50 flew Pruane out to his place so that they could appear together in a video.

I’m going to look deeper into this kid’s history and see what I can find. People trash talk famous rappers all the time, so what was it about this kid’s video that was so appealing?

I’ll update when I find out more.

I’ve updated the entry a bit. Interesting stuff, but still not what I would call a meme.

I wonder if somewhere down the road we’ll have a better way of seperating memes from other internet phenomena. Otherwise, I’m not really comfortable saying that this is ready to confirm.
