SQUAREDANCE

Renard Queenston

Renard Queenston (real name: Dave Remmler) is electronic music producer who is known for going under a number of aliases relating to musical styles, as well as combining his interest in anthropomorphic art.[1] He first became known online for composing a remix of the Garry Mods series Half-Life: Full Life Consequences under his alias Furries in a Blender, called "John Freeman" on October 2008.[2] The remix gained the artist a great deal of notoriety among fans of Machinima on YouTube, which led to "John Freeman" being added to the ending of the Full-Life Consequences finale, "Free Man"[3]

Spread

Ultimately due to the online popularity of "John Freeman," it helped led to exposure of Renard's future lines of work. After that, his songs eventually began to be used as a source for YTPMVs, especially his work under Kitsune², due to the songs' simplistic melodies, with "Rainbow Tylenol" a no exception. The first known YTPMV utilizing the song was created by YouTuber supdawg444 on February 22nd, 2010, which featured remixed footage of the animated series The Angry Beavers. As of July 2013, the video only gained over 59,000 views.

The video that would lead to the popularity of "Rainbow Tylenol" would be uploaded by YTPMV maker EnigmaEvocative three months later on May 28th, 2010, which was a mash-up of Trololo. The video is one of the most viewed remixes of the song, amassing over 2.7 million views in just three years. In all, as of July 2013, over 14,800 videos related to the song has since been uploaded to Youtube,[4] many of which has since been shared to Tumblr.[5]
