Scream On

Origin

May 5 2009, American Idol’s theme was classic rock. Contestant Danny Gokey chose to perform Aerosmith’s “Dream On”, a song which is known for a famous scream near the end. When Danny attempted to make the scream, he did it very poorly and was ridiculed by the judges as well as the public on the internet. Despite this, he made it through to the next week.

The day after the performance, the scream has already hit the web having the scream put over a video of a angry cat. Other videos like ones that involved putting the scream over famous screaming scenes like the shower scene in “Psycho” or “David After Dentist” later followed.
