Six Flags Commercial Parodies (also known as X Land) refer to a series of YouTube Poop Music Videos (YTPMVs) based on a TV commercial for the amusement theme park company Six Flags, in which a senior citizen dressed in a tuxedo and thick-framed glasses performs a frenetic dance to "We Like to Party" by the Vengaboys. The parodies typically feature alternate characters with a remixed version of the song in similar vein to the "This Video Contains" series.

Origin

Mr. Six, portrayed by Danny Teeson, was created by Michigan-based agency Doner Advertising and introduced as an advertising campaign for Six Flags in early 2004. The energetic dance he performs in the commercial is thought to have been influenced by a variety of techno dance subgenres including the Melbourne Shuffle, Jumpstyle, and Techtonik.

On December 23rd, 2008, YouTuber daggerrun^[2] uploaded the first known instance of YTPMV parody titled "Nerd Land," featuring the face of The Angry Video Game Nerd and a remix of "We Like to Party" based on soundbite sampled from his web series. In the video description, daggerrun challenged the viewers to respond with their own versions.

YouTuber daggerrun's "Nerd Land" was well-received by the YouTube Poop community, spawning at least 70 remixes in direct response to "Nerd Land" and many more that were uploaded separately.^[3] Many of "X Land" variations incorporated references to other well-known characters and memes featured in other related fads, including "It's Over 9000!", "Shoop Da Whoop" and "This Is Sparta!" to name a few. In addition to its prominent usage in video remixing, Mr. Six's iconic performance has been also parodied in pop culture and web series, including the Saturday Night Live and Robot Chicken.
