Slenderman is an less an internet meme, but rather an urban legend entirley fabricated in the Something Awful forums. The Slenderman himself is described as a lanky, suited figure with no facial features and the ability to grow tendrils out his back. It is also said that he can lengthen or shorten his arms to intimidate prey. The premise of the Slenderman goes that he take children before the mature into terrible things, acting as an anti hero of sorts, unfortunatly, if you manage to catch him in the act, you too are subject to his wrath. He waits in forests or fogs to disguise himself, but he is also commonly found in roads. The reason Slenderman is favored is because of his versatility in motive and method. It also help that he strongly resembles the symbol of anonymous, sharing the traits of a black suit, lack of facial features, and sense of omnipotence. He is very popular to photoshop and threads on 4Chan’s paranormal boards (/x/) are common.
