The 'Stone Island, vriend'-meme started with a youtube video ('Mouse Stone island shit') of a Dutch youngster presenting us his new Stone Island hooded sweater. I don't think anyone knows for sure if this guy was pulling a joke on us or was really showing pride for his modern "hooligan" – burberry cap included – style. Though this guy looks caucasian/Dutch he (excessively) uses Dutch-Antillean slang, like 'swa' which originally meant 'brother-in-law' but now also means 'friend'. And 'no spang', which means 'no worries'. He also speaks with a Dutch-Antillean accent. Of all his babblings the sentence "Stone Island, vriend." (which means "Stone Island, friend") resonated the most in the Dutch webcommunity. As he speaks this sentence he points the camera at the Stone Island logo, which he really adores throughout the video. He keeps repeating the same words and his story doesn't make much sense, but it's sure he really likes the sweater's hoodie and high collar!
