The Wicker Man is a 2006 horror film that was directed by Neil LaBute, and stars Nicolas Cage, whom dedicated this film to his friend Johnny Ramone, the guitarist of the punk rock band The Ramones, who had died two years before the film's release, this film is also a remake of the 1973 British cult classic of the same name

Premise

Edward Malus receives news that his daughter had went missing, he gets a pilot to fly him to an island which is off the coast of Washington, a neo-pagan island, led by an elderly woman named Sister Summersisle, while looking for his daughter, he ends up finding her tied up to a pole, looking as if she is ready to sacrifice, before saving her, he learns that he was the actual sacrifice, and is carried into a giant wicker man, which is burned in the main ending of the film

Reception

While grossing $38,755,073 at the box office, the film has received mainly negative reviews from critics, and gained five Razzie award nominations, Robin Hardy, the director of the original film, had his lawyers to remove his name from promotional material of the film, he also expressed skepticism opinions over the film

NOT THE BEES!

NOT THE BEES! is a memorable quote said by the character Edward Malus, portrayed by Nicolas Cage in the ending of the unrated version of the film in which the citizens of the island break his legs and put a wire mesh helmet on his head, and pour bee's into it

How'd It Get Burned?

How'd It Get Burned? is also a memorable quote uttered repeatedly by the character Edward Malus when he discovers a burned doll in the graveyard, along with a sweater, upon discovering the sweater and burned doll, Malus picks up the doll and repeatedly screams "How'd It Get Burned?" in a woman's face
