Suck My Ass

About

"Suck My Ass" is a memorable quote uttered by Vine user Jessie G in a short monologue video taunting her "haters" uploaded in April 2014. In late June that same year, the quote suddenly gained traction on Vine and spawned a series of parody videos featuring the phrase.

Origin

On April 16th, 2014, Viner Jessie G^[1] uploaded a video titled “people seriously haters suck it,” which was unexpectedly removed almost a year after. In the video, she told those who have criticized her to “suck my ass”. Four months after the original video was published, it gained more than 11.3 million views, 283,000 likes and 56,000 comments. Many mirrors of the now removed video still exist on both Vine (one is shown below) and YouTube.

"For all those haters out there, suck my ass cause you're no good and better than everybody else."

Spread

On July 12th, Viner Sarah Boulavsky^[2] posted a clip in which she tells other drivers to "suck my ass," citing the original "suck my ass" video as her inspiration (shown below).

On July 15th, YouTuber PhreshCakes uploaded a music remix using the audio from the "suck my ass" clip combined with the "Let Me Take a Selfie" song by The Chainsmokers. The original video has since been unavailable due to unknown reasons. A re-upload of the track by Alfie Plays! is shown below.

On June 18th, 2014, YouTuber "oscar almonte"^[3] reposted the video to YouTube, where it received more than 241,000 views and 280 comments two weeks after it was uploaded. On July 13th, 2014, a Vine account named "Suck My Ass"^[4] was created, which highlights remixes and parodies of the original Jessie G. video.

Between late July and early August 2014, numerous comedy sketches and dubbed parody videos featuring the quote "suck my ass" were uploaded to Vine.
