"This is my jam" is a slang phrase, normally referring to a particular song, which means the speaker likes or feels a particular affinity to the song. It is sometimes applied to things the speaker likes beyond music.
Origin
On December 11th, 2006, YouTuber DJ Paris Paul[2] posted a video of CheckOne2 performing their song "Jam" which chorus repeatedly says "That's my jam." As of September 2014, the video has gained over 13,000 views.
Spread
On March 13th, 2008, QuickMeme published an image macro which reads "Oh hot damn, this is my jam."
On March 28th, 2010, the Facebook page[5] "OH MY GOD! what? THIS IS MY JAM!!!!!!!" was created, as of September 2014, the page has gained over 90,000 likes.
In December of 2012,[6] This Is My Jam[7], a platform which allows users to showcase their current favorite song or "jam" was created.
On June 11th, 2013, comedian Bo Burnham posted a Vine[3] which featured him exclaiming "This is my jam!" only to reveal he is not speaking about the song playing, but actual jam. As of September 2014, the Vine has gained over 370,000 likes.
On September 13th, 2013, Urban Dictionary[1] user Dr. Barry Love submitted an entry for "That's My Jam!" which he defined as:
"It's a term for your favorite,or one of your favorite songs. It's usualy yelled out loud when someone hears his or her favorite song in the radio,disco,etc."
