About

“Zeta Punch” is a name commonly associated with videos, featuring a fight scene in the Japanese television anime Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam with characters’ voices replaced with sounds of different characters from entirely different franchises.

Origin

In March 29th 2007, a YouTube user named Kajetokun released a video named ZETA PUUUUNCH, where characters’ voices had been replaced with sounds of Captain Falcon from Super Smash Bros. Melee. As of January 8th 2014, the video has around 650,000 views.

Spread

Soon after the original video had been released, people started making derivatives of the video, featuring characters’ voices from Ace Attorney, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Mortal Kombat, and more.

A Youtube user named “goat onastik” (“goatgoat”) had gone a step further by not only changing the sound but also altering the scenes and changing the way how characters look.
