I don't really think this is true.
We've had an effect, no doubt, but drastic?
Most of season two was written before or during the 'rise of the bronies' (January-ish 2011).
Heck, our biggest moment, Derpy, was scripted for 'Ditzy Doo' until they specifically asked the writer to change the name for us.
In other words, that scene would have been nearly identical without the bronies.

We've seen and done a lot of really cool things in relation to ponies, but we shouldn't overplay our role.
We haven't effected the actual show all that much, nor should we want to.
Excessive, blatant pandering would only detract from the aspects that drew us to the show in the first place.
