there is a difference between a poorly maschine made bad looking mass product that is done in no time and a good looking handmade unic which took a fairly long amout of time to create

Strange, the only plush I’ve seen in that price range is the Fluttershy w/Gala Dress that went for $2400+ on eBay. Most of the actual commissions I’ve seen range from the low to mid hundreds, depending the size and complexity.

Yes, the better fan-made stuff is expensive, but they have to design their own patterns, embroidery, purchase the materials(minky isn’t inexpensive), sewing equipment, embroidery software, and spend hundreds of hours perfecting their craft. Even then, making a single plush takes plenty of time. And on top of that, most do it as a hobby, not a profession.

Oh, yeah, and there’s also the whole thing about Hasbro turning the show on it’s head for the sake of a couple of toys, like was said earlier. Or something.
