Video Game Logic - And yet, Red still can't walk through the cut trees because of Video Game Logic

I really want to know why GameFreak thinks HMs are a good thing to keep. Why can't we just get items that allow us to use the HM's function. Or at least let us forget HMs.

I mean forget the HMs whenever you want, not when you have to go to some old guy in a town to get it replaced. Not to mention the old guy probably lives in a town far into the game and so you're stuck with Cut until badge 6 or 7.

I don't want that. No one wants that.
