Nintendo has clearly been paying extreme attention to the Internet lately. That entire fight between Iwata & Reggie was pure gif fuel, Miis are in Smash Bros., they clearly put the Luigi Death Stare footage into the Digital Event last minute (because it’s so recent of a meme), the first thing they showed off with the Zelda reveal was how open the overworld will be, they’re giving us an online shooter in their own unique style, Palutena’s reveal was 100% fan service, and they’re publishing another (previously doomed) M-rated game -- which looks like something they would normally never even set foot towards.
To say they’re starting to learn at this point would be an understatement. They’re making huge strides towards understanding the Western market, all while still remaining true to the company we know and love. Bravo, Nintendo. Bravo.
