You are trying to raise awareness of a piece of evidence, and link it via picture. Not only is it better for the image, but it is sychological roadblock. You divert their train of thought by asking for a specific, which invites them to engage the e with personal agency - IE get directly involved rather than parrot what theyve heard When they are directly involved, they are more likely to listen and reach their own conclusions. If those conclusions are wrong, they're more likely to be receptive if you're positive and thank them for taking the time to look into it. Using language similar to theirs helps (not the incendiary stuff though) If they don't get directly involved, or continue the hate speech, press them once more, and then kindly say goodbye - something like "If you'd prefer not to talk about this I understand, but please don't be abusive and deceptive," or simply repeat what they said that was offensive in quotations Dont give them any ammo, ever. Remember, everyone: Our enemy is the shoddy and corrupt state of gaming journalism and the SJWs that exacerbate the problem, not the people who genuinely want to help others and stand against injustice. Find out where they stand, and treat them with the respect they deserve, lest we become that which we despise.

Funny thing is, for about 2 years now I've tried to use this approach in all the debates/discussions I've been in on the internet, and it works wonders. I've actually had people send me messages to thank me for being calm and polite with them. It feels really good to have a discussion end happily when so many of them end in insults and vitriol.
