Translation: an upcoming Nickelodeon special was cancelled after the host revealed in an interview that Nick's shows were better when they starred an entirely white, male cast. He justified this by saying non-white characters are the equivalent of blackface.

No joke, he says that Legend of Korra is objectively worse than Ren and Stimpy solely because the main character has dark skin.

I got to "I think that it does the culture a disservice. If I were Indian or Jewish, for example, and watched something where the characters are Jewish or supposed to be, and if it’s not specific to that, then I start to wonder, “Why are they doing this?” It becomes blackface." before my rage really started bubbling over.

WTF is he actually trying to say here? Because I may be interpreting it wrongly but it seems like he's pretty much saying "oh but it's impossible for an Indian person to act like a white person, why bother making the main character Indian if you aren't going to show him eating curry every night!" I am aware this is hyperbole but seriously he's basically saying that no matter a main characters race if act like a normal American (due to being raised in America) they may as well be white. Clearly this guy doesn't understand that a persons race doesn't define who they are.

Also his point about anyone being able to relate to a white person is very flawed as shown by the reason Djimon Hounsou took on his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, I found this on IMDB and even now it makes me kind of sad. Djimon Hounsou took the role of Korath for the sake of his son: "I have a son who loves superheroes from Spider-Man to Iron Man to Batman. One day he looks at me and says 'Dad, I want to be light-skinned so I could be Spider-Man. Spider-Man has light skin.' That was sort of a shock."
