1.) Varrick is trying to develop a Spirit-killing weapon.
2.) Varrick is trying to harvest Spirits for energy/weapon use.

Kuvira is already enough like Hitler (even putting her political opponents in Concentration Camps), committing Genocide against the Spirits is the next logical step…
