So I looked up who this Ken Penders guy is and apparently he does work on the Archie comic books. Then for some dumbass reason, he tried to sue Sega, even though they, you know, OWN AND CREATED SONIC. Then he sued Archie and now they can't use characters he made for the comic books series.

"Artistic integrity of the series? Screw that! It's my way or the highway! If I don't get my way, the comic can't use my OC's even if it hurts the fans the most!"

Yeah, I may not be fan of the comic book series or even Sonic in general but I can see why you gents and ladies would hate him.

To be fair, things goes like this if I'm not mistaken:
Ken Penders started to copyright things he "created" (Although "takes whatever he wants, changes it a little, and makes it lame" is a better term) for the Sonic comics like stories or characters as his own. Things that he did under Sega's lincense and shouldn't be possible to own, as you're working for THEM with their material, although maybe I'm wrong.

Not only that, it seems that he took characters from other people that worked in the comic to make them part of his own creations.

Somehow, his claims got certified by the US Copyright Office, and he wanted to get paid by Archie so they could use his now "copyrighted characters" in their comics.

Then, Archie Comics sued Ken Penders, and because this world is really, really stupid, Pendurrs won.

Another dumb story was about Sonic Chronicles.

Penders believed that Bioware copied several things from his comics to put in that game, mainly the "Knuckles is not the only Echidna, there are billions of clones" and "The Dark Brotherhood is a copy of something I did…-Which was a copy of a lot others things I saw before-".
