The Lego Movie - And that's how "The Lego Movie" didn't get nominated

I personally enjoyed the Lego Movie more, but Box Trolls was still pretty good. And step-by-step claymation will never fail to impress me.

I think the main reason The Lego Movie lost is because it's not the first time something like it's been done. Sure, it was amazing. The graphics, characters, nostalgia, and humor felt refreshing. The thing is, it didn't really do anything special besides tell an inspiring story for kids using Lego characters and settings as the medium. I may not be the best guy for this, as I haven't seen the Box Trolls, but from the looks of it, it seems pretty unique. Reminds me of Pyschonauts, sort of.
