Fun fact: even though Deus Ex came out in 2000, the World Trade Center is not present in the New York skyline. When asked why, Warren Spector said the technical reason was because of limited file space for the skyline file, but still offered up a plausible in-game explanation that "just imagine it was bombed by terrorists or something." One year later, the WTC was in fact destroyed in a terrorist attack.

Another fun fact: since Invisible War was released post-9/11 the game's tagline ended up being "The Future War on Terror", which has kinda managed to unintentionally date the game's release to the early 00s.
