I can’t really tell for sure.

The most popular Spider-Man meme is obviously ‘60s Spider-Man. But besides that we don’t really have much, How Do I Shot Web and Dancing Spider-Man are also popular, but can’t compare to ‘60s Spider-Man. I can’t really tell for Toei Spider-Man.

But that are the sub-memes on this site. So there are memes related to Spider-Man that are popular and possibly some less popular ones, but I can’t say if that counts for Spider-Man himself as well.

Maybe list those 4 in your forum and wait for results.

It was already changed to subculture. But M.U.G.E.N is definitely popular. It wouldn’t reach that many vids and characters without some popularity and help.

As for fighting games. Yeah I get that feeling as well sometimes. For example, both Guilty Gear and Blazblue are great fighting games. The reviews they receive are also very positive. But it just doesn’t appeal here in the west, some people dislike them simply for being Japanese.
