I came here to mostly support Know Your Meme in researching Japanese Internet memes.

Futae no Kiwami and probably both, Donald McDonald / Ran Ran Ru and Miyoco / Hikkoshi Baba.
I haven’t seen any large number of Everyone Hates Homer videos, but I’m sure if you look up “Everyone Hates X” videos, you’ll find a larger number, which is approximately 300 videos, with some of the most viewed ones having from 50,000 to nearly 100,000 views, but most others have around 1,000 views. There are also some similar ones without the “Everyone Hates” words in the title, like Pikawil64’s MUGEN: 10 Minutes of Omega Tiger Woods slaughtering.
@mona_jpn I first saw them in this video, which shows a modified version of the doujin fighting game Dragon Blast [Project Soul Gainer], that features notable NND characters. Other than the ones already added to KYM (e.g. Hatsune Miku, Touhou Project, Ran Ran Ru, Enemy Controller, etc.), and the ones you said they aren’t enough to count as memes (e.g. Dora, Krauser, Godman, etc.), anyone else in this video a meme?
I’m beginning to notice something funny going on with Johannes Krauser II (ヨハネ・クラウザーII世) from the manga series Detroit Metal City (デトロイト・メタル・シティ), as well as Godman (ゴッドマン), but I assume they aren’t popular enough to count as memes, just like Dora the koala baseball mascot.
There is also a related entry that was submitted “about a year ago” by VGDCMario, which is referred to as Everyone Hates Homer, but it’s been deadpooled. If it deserves to be confirmed, and if it does, then it should be added to the M.U.G.E.N entry as a submeme.
There are some subculture entries from Vocaloid / Miku Hatsune to Pokemon, but I noticed that a Spider-Man subculture entry hasn’t been submitted, yet. Although I’m ignorant about nearly everything about the Marvel Comics character, I’m just suggesting, because KYM has some Spider-Man related entries. Just look him up and you’ll see some. There is also one that I remember seeing a few times that might count, but it was mostly found at YTMND, known as Crippled Spider-Man. While Halloween is adjacent, this...
@RandomMan and Tomberry That’s fine. Well done. @AngryOrpheus The Brosona This is about researching and building the entry, not “General Discussion”.
M.U.G.E.N entry submitted! I’ve added two editors: mona_jpn (to write anything about its popularity in Japan) Natsuru Springfield (by his request) Anyone else want to join its editorship?
Thank you. Any other suggestions? Should I submit the entry, even if it isn’t very large? I’m not thinking about starting it like most other people. I would create some sections that might be necessary, while I will add a handful of info in each. And then finally, I will submit it and add some of you as editor of the entry.
I did, but didn’t find it. I thought the entry’s title meant something else, but I guess I’ll have to search with as many related terms as I can think of on my next search, and read the entries to make sure I found them. Anyway, I appreciate the link.
Well then. This would take a while to gather and write the entry. Any suggestions? All I can think of is reviewing the layouts of some entries for other memetic tools and software. I noticed that another related thread was already created, but it’s been locked for around a year. The oldest M.U.G.E.N video I found is probably this, which was uploaded on December 22, 2005. @mona_jpn If you mean “well-known”, then yes. Kung-Fu Man is the most popular, due to not only coming with M.U.G.E.N, but for also...
They are becoming memetic. There are cute ones and there are horrifying ones. I even seen some on Nico Nico Douga (NND). Does it deserve its own entry at KYM, or has it already been added?
I’m pretty sure this isn’t a meme, but I’ve seen it used to feature and contribute some memes, just like Miku Miku Dance (MMD), G-Mod, Meme Generator, Akinator, etc.. There are a larger number of characters and stages based on Japanese memes than others, even English ones.
@mona_jpn I’ll check it out. Anyway, someone created an entry for Miku Miku Dance (MMD).
@mona_jpn OK. Here is another image-based meme question: Should the entry for Aka-san / Gedō Beibī (外道ベイビー) have info about its connection with the Billy Herrington (Wrestling Series)? Here is an example of it: By the way, Aka-san / Gedō Beibī (外道ベイビー) was shown on the well-known U. S. newspaper, “New York Times”, on 9 / 16 / 2010. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/16/fashion/16meme.html And this is what Aka-san / Gedō Beibī (外道ベイビー) looks like now. I’ve also added more images to its entry. Will you...
