Waxing poetic about how I doesn’t afraid of anything about how my life got flipped turned upside down.

It just dawned on me that since our introduction of entries devoted to sites, WorldStarHipHop hasn’t really come up much in conversation. It may not be the most influential aggregator in the world but it has this weird notion of a demographic targeted ebaums. They certainly have a fair chunk of memetic pull like the Scarlett Johansson incident and promoting artists like Lil B. Discussion?
All hail the champion (NSFW duh)
I think this is a problem exclusive to the anime subculture because there are so many aspects that are still individually way too broad to warrant entries. I mean we have an entry for AMVs already but when it comes down to it we need to discern what makes setting anime clips to music so different to any other footage set to music that makes it memetic. Arranging video segments to a soundtrack is nothing new. Now if we were to compare it to YTPMVs, we now see differences and unique distinctions in things...
For anyone reading this thread, if you are posting a large image in an entry it is good practice using the html tags so you can size down the height/width. Images within entries shouldn’t be any wider than 450-500 pixels. What you can also do is wrap < a href > tags linking to the full image page around the < img > tags so that when someone clicks on the image they can see it full size, it helps for things like comics or things with small text. Sweetie Belle Derelle is a really good example...
When I see the entry, all I see is just a massive list and that is not very attractive to the average user. Now what you could do is research which word filter was the first one used on 4chan, provide two or three more popular examples with photographic evidence of use, then direct people to the lurkmore wiki entry for the full list instead. You may also want to see if you can dig up quotes/posts from moot regarding the word filters as well.
What I fear is a massive glut of entries being submitted daily for every single twitter trend that hits. I would like to see a hub made but I don’t think there are enough hashtag trends that have transcended twitter. The only two I can think of are #firstworldproblems and #notintendedtobeafactualstatement. As time passes I can see a use for it but for right now I think we are fine.
I have a lot of opinions on this but I would like to get more discussion from people more familiar with the series. I think there is barely enough information out there to warrant a sub-culture entry if anything based on the fans because when you search for Hetalia, you see yaoi, lots of it. We have a few entries on individual Hetalia memes and that works for me, whoever takes this one on I would like to see go in depth on deviantArt trends and NicoNicoDouga trends as those appear to be the biggest...
I love it but it’s a video series, no derivatives. Now if we start seeing a whole bunch of image macros with OH MAH GAWWWW or EW MEEEHH GAAAAAAA then we might be on to something. I’m keeping an eye on this for the next few months.
Added sub entries: what’s your game, red shirt guy, meuporg I’m actually glad this got listed because right now is the perfect time to make a stub entry for WoW, I think we have just enough sub entries to make it worth having. Look at the TF2 and Touhou entries for direction on what the WoW entry should look like. Do mention pop culture references (IE South Park) when writing.
If you take a look at the Google Insight data this is pretty much exclusive to the US. There is a big presence in Italy also but seems to be mostly an AMV fad.
I want to go just so I can have a picture taken of me eating a cheeseburger. We need a NY meetup badly.
If and when we do a Ponies episode, it will prolly be a half hour long after school special at this point. So many ponies…

And further tacking on after looking at the Insight data: http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=tecktonik&cmpt=geo Tecktonik for some reason is getting crazy high search traffic in Mongolia and Mexico recently.
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/tecktonik http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro_Dance I stumbled upon this recently on my own surfing YouTube and I am a little glad we already have a partial entry on this. Since the Jumpstyle entry was confirmed I’ve been slowly looking at other dance memes and I would like to collaborate a little more info and get some opinions. Thoughts/observations on the spread of tecktonik? Any French researchers want to lend a hand?
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=255496 This came across my Facebook wall and it appears that Icing is getting more extreme over time, people now taking it to new heights. In this instance we have icing coupled with some pretty significant property damage. Any other instances of EXTREME Icing?
“Zangief” is now trending on twitter and gaming communities are just now starting to pick up on this. This does belong in research but who is up for starting the entry?
