If there’s anything you find in the dead pool that is an actual meme now, feel free to request editorship anyway. If you work on it and think its in good shape, post it here or let me know via pm and ill see about pulling it back into submissions
Yeah Zillie, I will totally help work on it too!
TLDR This post is not really on the language topic, but on topic with the brony/pegasister talk in the last post Someone brought up the pegasister thing to me after reading this Daily Dot article on sexism within the fandom. Not in a meme elitism way, but in a “why does the fandom not use the term and instead use the blanket masculine term instead” way. He had no idea pegasister was even a word, thinking that female fans were just that because it’s expected that a woman like MLP. While it may be...
This PR Log story claiming Banksy had been arrested and revealed just began popping up all over, here’s a tweet from PSFK and a story on Death and Taxes, but it may be fake. Here’s a Reddit thread debunking it and a tweet from newsweek editor Brian Ries claiming articles on PR Log can be purchased. This is something we should definitely be keeping an eye on
IMO, Paraprosdokian does work a lot better than bait-and-switch, as it’s a language term (and aren’t advice animals really just language games centered on a stereotype?) but opspe makes a great point: the audience of memetic content in general aren’t really linguistics students / would be familiar with this term in the first place. bait and switch, though not as accurate, gives the same semblance of understanding and is a lot more accessible of a term. Every time I’ve had to type Paraprosdokian today...
also lol i just saw this .@burgerking Thanks BK. Let us know if you want to grab a burger and swap stories – we’ll drive. -- Jeep (@Jeep) February 20, 2013
More on the Paris Hilton hack, all of the info (including her nudes) was originally posted on General Mayhem --I’ve checked GenMay and nothing comes up for the post (it was most likely removed, as other phone numbers were in there too) or for the username “ithug” Their archives don’t start until 2008 either :/ Also, this took place on Feb 19/20 2005, nearly eight years ago to the day.
So you guys have seen the recent hacks on the Twitter accounts of Burger King and Jeep, yeah? It led Twitter to officially call for stronger passwords via a blog post late yesterday afternoon. Yesterday, Gizmodo announced that the perpetrator of these hacks is a man named Tony Cunha, known online as “iThug.” He is allegedly responsible for the Paris Hilton phone hack from 2005 (source 2) and was known for hacking MySpace profiles. He’s also a Boston-area DJ. On the 18th, prolific tweeter @lilinternet...
get in touch w. graduatememe, he’s also researching memes in the classroom i’m not entirely sure what your question is though: are you seeking to interview people about how memes are used in classrooms?
Minecraft. When I quit last night, I had just died and lost all my sweet iron gear ;________; so yeah, totally effed.
i have to set my alarm an hour before i actually want to get up because i like to think i’ll get up early and do stuff without rushing. this works about 5% of the time x.x
This is on our 2013 to-do list!

Poland Spring responds there was this cnet article last night on how poland spring missed their social media moment but not responding right away to the water thing. I don’t understand why this is funny or why this is a thing though. I think this is a prime example of people grasping for anything to become a NEW COOL MEME for them to hold on to after a big news event.
here’s one i would like to take to tea time
i’d make him say pip pip cheerio any day
