Wow, it’s been a really long time since I updated my wall.Overall I’d say I’m a pretty average netizen. I watch the occasional anime when I have time, my traditional favorites being Trigun, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Starblazers (Uchuu Senkan Yamato). Also, as you can tell by my avatar, I’m a fan of MLP (though I try my best to not be obnoxious about it), and western cartoons/animation in general.
As far as gaming goes, I see myself gravitate primarily towards the indie and retro circles, though of course I love the occasional triple AAA release. I like strategy games such as Dwarf Fortress and the Civilization series, most games that Valve makes, and really anything that looks fun. These days I mostly do my gaming through Steam, and if you want to friend me here’s my profile:
I’ve always been really interested in internet culture, I think it’s really fascinating to observe how things spread and mutate over time. That’s why I’ve loved KYM so much.
Within the MLP fandom, I enjoy all the fantastic fan content our artists create. I don’t watch as many videos or listen to as much music as I used to, but I still dabble in those. Primarily these days I’m into the art and fanfiction.
Speaking of fanfiction, my only real claim to fame in this fandom would be my story, I Wasn’t Prepared For This. It received a far better reaction than I ever could have hoped for. Still, things IRL have held me back from continuing it for a long time, though I hope to bring it out of hiatus very soon.
I remember reading a report a few months ago saying that Twitter ain’t doing so hot either.
From everything I’ve seen, all these big social media platforms are just living on borrowed time, bubbles ready to burst at any moment. It happened with MySpace same way.
I wonder how much longer the current social media bubble will hold?
Two lions, right? Because of the mane?
Not sure how many, but the significant one is Silverstring Media of course.
Gaming journalism is corrupt, and on the quality level of celebrity tabloids.
Gamers get fed up and start speaking out about it.
Gaming Journalists avoid the issue by claiming that the gamers are just harassing them.
Not sure what else there is to understand.
Where are the archive links to those forum posts?
HAVE THEY BEEN ARCHIVED?!
This show needs more whinny-laughs.
Of course, it’s no surprise that Reddit would want to prevent KIA from their Gamergate activities. After all, Reddit is based in San Francisco, and owned by the same parent company that owns Ars Technica.
The words are certainly inspiring, though it is important to keep in mind their speaker. Mengsk was an extremist, and overall an evil person motivated by personal emotion rather than desire for a common good.
It’s a good cautionary tale though. Never let emotion and vengeance take precedence over logic and reason.
Reminds me of way back in the day when we did a donation to “end butthurt” (ass cancer).
Oh, this one?
We Russian propagandists now.
It’s extremely fun to read this image to the theme of Tetris:
Happy new year, folks!
My new years resolution is to spend a bit more time in my creative hobbies, namely writing and programming.
How about y’all?
“Gas the men, gender war now.”
I’d share my foxhole with bongfucker666 any day.
A stick under normal environmental conditions should decompose into organic matter/dirt before all 1,000 of the marines die (at least one marine should by chance alone live to old age).
So I don’t think the stick could even outlast the marines.
Saw this pop up on GG earlier, what a time to be alive.
Chris-chan is fucking insane. Seriously.
I wouldn’t really call Joe ‘neutral’.
Perhaps I came off too strongly, but I’ve had reason from past experience to develop a dislike of Joe and his work.
I’m not ‘demonizing’ neutrals, I’m expressing my distaste of a person who I don’t trust from past experience.
Angry Joe has mostly chickened out and stayed as far away from this scandal as possible.
Personally, I think he’s acted like a complete coward. He’s always portrayed himself as a sort of “everyman” who speaks from the perspective of a normal gamer. Yet in this gigantic controversy, with the media calling gamers every wicked thing under the sun, where has Joe been? Certainly not defending the gaming hobby or community, as his stance should be.
TB put his reputation and livelihood on the line for the gamers. Joe didn’t. Joe said he didn’t care, that it wasn’t worth him getting involved.
I was mostly joking, but I will say one thing here.
“In between seasons” isn’t enough of an excuse, really. This fandom did just fine in the S1 and S2 hiatus times.
If we’re going to be completely honest with ourselves, it’s obvious to see that the fandom is not as big or active as it used to be. Face it, a lot of people moved on. Whether because of a perceived dip in show quality, or something else, the MLP fandom is on the decline.
There’s only so much Hasbro can fuck over the fanbase before content creators get fed up with C&D’s and leave for greener pastures.
WE ARE CONTROLLING THE SKELETONS.
ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL
