Though I agree with TexFoxen. They’re definitely not purple like this pic depicts them to be. They’re redder than her shades.
I do take back my previous comment, actually. After I performed a meticulous color-matching correction with the much clearer iTunes 1080p version (using the untinted scene immediately prior as a reference), her eyes ended up the same shade as Dash’s. They are pretty solidly in magenta territory, even taking the blue scene tint into account.
To be fair, it was a bit harder to make out the exact color in Xyro’s YouTube upload. But yeah, I’m thoroughly convinced they’re Dashie-magenta now.
I did my own color correcting as well (on the iTunes 1080p version which is much clearer than this), and also ended up with Dash-color eyes.
Despite the tint of that scene being blue, the underlying eye color still ends up being a definite magenta when you pay close attention to making all the other colors match.
Just an average day for Andrea Libman.
There’s a blue tint over the shot – compare it to the un-tinted shot of the DJ booth that immediately precedes it. In the un-tinted shot the record labels are clearly seen as red, while in this shot they’re nearly the same hue as Vinyl’s eyes.
Even if her eyes aren’t truly red (which a lot of people are still debating), they’re at least much redder than they appear in the shot.
I’ve got Homestuck in my ponies and I couldn’t be happier.
With her featherfingers, of course.
“Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I learned that even when things look their worst, it’s important to remember your friends will always be there for you.”
See? Still legible. Hands are overrated.
I did some looking around myself, but I can’t find any reliable source on who did the voice. R. Lee Ermey is just one of several names being thrown around right now as a possibility, and there’s plenty of people who seem certain that it’s not him. Even Jayson Thiessen doesn’t recall who did it, according to his Twitter.
Cartoon gags like that would most likely be specified at the storyboard level. The few storyboard samples we’ve seen have been very detailed in their shot breakdown. Based on the behind-the-scenes videos that jinratgeist (one of the Top Draw animators) has posted, the people doing the actual animation don’t have much creative input on how the events occur aside from minor aspects like timing.
DIDN’T LEARN LOL
Ditzy was never her name in canon. The name Ditzy Doo is mentioned in the episode Winter Wrap Up, but it was not connected to any onscreen pony – it was essentially written as a throwaway line to further the plot.
Shortly before that episode aired, Lauren mentioned that the name Ditzy Doo would be used in it to refer to an unseen "featherbrained’ pegasus, and she brought up the possibility of assigning the name to our Derpy. But she also stated that she didn’t wish to tread on the name we as a fandom had already given her.
And that’s how Pinkie accidentally taught her to walk through walls.

For anyone wondering about the identity of the unicorn, it’s Rarity – note the “Ry” abbreviation, similar to others we’ve seen Sibsy use in her storyboards. Also, curly ribbon tail.
