Gamer and forum troll extraordinaire (exaggerating, lulz), my uncanny ability to turn any situation against someone gets me into trouble every now and then. But, of course, I have self-restraint. :D
CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL, DAWG.
The poops are the cutscenes, I’m aware of this because I am an avid YTP watcher, especially old-gen where Faces of Evil, Adventure of Sonic, and a couple other famous sources were spammed to hell via YTP. Not sure if this counts as a meme, but it had potential. You could say that some of the phrases are meme-material, like “SQUADALAH, WE ARE OFF” and “HMM, I WONDER WHAT’S FOR DINNER”, and “TRIFORCE SAYS…”, but the cutscenes itself? Maybe on YouTube/ytmnd on a small scale.
Ugh, all of those Rick Rolls weren’t necessary… ;_;
Weegee is a much more popular meme than Malleo, so I think this should go with the Weegee page. Also, you said that there have been video examples for this meme. Can you please add them to the post?
Exploding van- always relevant.
Haha, I love it! Seems like meme material to me, I hope it spreads more~
LOL! I KNEW IT! Adachi IS homosexual!
Agreed- more references, maybe a video of the original scene, and some variations please.
Yeah, I wouldn’t classify this as a meme. It’s hilarious, though. :3
Hmm, then I stand corrected. Although, I haven’t seen much of this meme on other websites yet, which made me jump to the conclusion that it’s not technically a meme. :X
To add onto the whole “GET” thing, you could also state that GET has moved out of just 4chan and into more websites, becoming a basic part of Internet Slang.
Using myself as an example, every time I get a noteworthy level up in a game that I play, I go “LEVEL ___ GET” :P
I think that as of right now, this is merely a fad. Although, you could argue that it’s a meme due to the fact that there are already quite a few variations of the original in a few forms including MVs and I’m pretty sure a few pictures (for example, Kirby’s face on Leonidas’ body saying “Leonidas gets sand in his sandals”).
I think this should be classified more as Internet Slang. It doesn’t have that… meme feel, per se.
Hilarious exploitable, I love it! xD As for the post, I’d try and go more in-depth on the content of the issue. Other than that, I’m not sure what else to put, other than maybe a Google Interest graph.
Haha, never heard of this one before… when did this originate? Can you also state which websites (other than amazon) that this meme’s become widespread on?
Going back to the idea of the… in-car desk? I think that’s the worst idea I’ve heard in a long time. xD
Yes, this is more of a fad… not that much of a meme.
I’m pretty sure the origin of the meme had to do with the announcement of the release of SSBB, because that’s when I noticed most YouTube “scam” videos were being made (aka, fake picture as the thumbnail and some kind of Rickroll/screamer being the actul video). Coincidence? I think not. Especially if you look at the kind of fanbase this game has- it is a classic, but with its broad variety of characters, it’s going to attract everyone and anyone that enjoys the Nintendo franchise. With that kind of a fan base, you know that these kinds of videos/fads are bound to show up.
I like how much information has been provided and how neat this post is. Very well done.
Where this video is a funny and semi-popular video on YouTube (let’s face it, if a slideshow made by a 10 year old can get 1,000,000 views, any video can), it isn’t technically meme material. The reason being is that a meme is generally a fad that assimilates into Internet culture via high amounts of views leading to variations in forms of video and speech. The ferret video is a popular video, but if you were to ask any person on another site, I would bet they wouldn’t know what you are talking about.
Wow, thank you very much for the compliment!
As for becoming a researcher, I’m not entirely sure if that would be possible for me. I could say that I’m linguistic and somewhat knowledgable about the knowings of zee inturwebz, If something actually does rear its head in my direction, I’d be more than happy to post it on knowyourmeme. :D That being said, I wonder if I should post something that seems as if it could be called a meme.
40TH. IN YOUR FACE, KNOWYOURMEME USERS.
Deadpool, I agree. No information about it whatsoever, no links, no pictures of the original or variations…
Toyota, what drugs are you taking? I want some of that good shit.
Dead meme is dead.
Millhouse is a forced meme that’s countered by saying he’s not a meme, which in turn became a meme all in itself. Confusing, amirite?
