This probably isn’t going to help with that, but I was thinking about how you described your mom, and I was wondering if you could go into more detail. Of course, this is only if you’re comfortable with doing so- you should never let anyone force you to reveal anything you don’t want to, no matter what. I can think of only four people I know outside my family who I’ve personally told any of the things in my post to, and that number probably won’t go up much through the rest of my life. And yet, sometimes it just feels really fucking good to let that shit out.

So you excited for season 2?

A fucked-up mother, eh? Now there’s a feel that I know. Her alcoholism has been a pain in my ass for four fucking years now. The worst part is probably the random periods of time in which it seems like that shit is finally done. But no, it always comes back. Almost two months ago my father (also an alcoholic, but sober for at least two years) actually forced her to leave for the first time, and I haven’t seen her since. From the few messages she’s sent, our best guess is that she hasn’t drank from that day till now, and is living in a special home for people in recovery, though of course anyone can fucking lie.
All I can tell you is to stay strong. Don’t go for any of that “don’t let it affect you” bullshit, because that’s impossible. The fact that it does just shows you that you’re human, and if you’ve still got that then you’ve still got hope.
